
H.E. Yang Jiechi, Special Representative of the President of the People’s Republic of China, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communication Party of China (CPC) and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs met Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amb. Monica Juma on September 4, 2019.
During the meeting, the two reviewed bilateral cooperation, regional security and multilateral issues based on the Strategic Comprehensive Cooperation Partnership (SCCP) between Kenya and China.
They appreciated that relations between the two countries have grown in depth and breadth and agreed on the need to enhance the partnership to higher levels, deepen people to people interactions, cooperate in tourism, culture, science and technology, and intensify high-level exchange visits.
The Special Representative called on President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House Nairobi, which was the highlight of the two days visit.
